Purpose
The aim of this project was to produce unconventional artwork that is versatile and mobile. Wearable art has been a very innovative and inspiring field that testifies against fast fashion and disposable clothing. As artwork through jewelry has gained traction recently, I wanted to approach wearable art in a more accessible way.
Not everyone can afford the runway collection or have the occasion to wear the pieces that the wearable art field is currently yielding. But art ascends the physical dimension... so, utilizing my expertise in AR/VR, I created wearable artwork at the convergence of the physical and digital mediums.

Smartphones are a technology that almost everyone has, and with this simple tool, a painted denim jacket can be brought to life using AR technology when viewed through the lens.
For this project, I used ARTIVIVE to host my AR design.
I created the motion graphics in Tilt Brush (Virtual reality painting software) and edited it using Adobe After Effects.

Approach
The first step of the project was the physical aspect of the jacket. Inspired by the themes of Indian transcendental art, I painted handpainted the eccentric design on the denim jacket. using acrylic paints and fabric medium.

Once the physical piece was completed, the digital work began. I recreated the design in Tilt brush, a VR painting software. Lights and strobes were the main focus of my digital recreation to coincide with the theme of the art.
To match the visuals, I chose a song by an Indian local artist Ritviz to accompany it. The brushes of the digital design react to the audio.
